MUM'S LIST

My most recent read is called Mum's List. It is a true story about a wonderful woman called Kate, her husband, Singe, and their two children, Reef and Finn.

This story came out a few years ago now but somehow I had never really herd about it back then. I've had the book for a while and have finally got around to reading it and I'm so glad I did. It is incredible!

It starts off introducing Kate and Singe and how they met and fell in love. They were a pretty perfect match and you can tell just how much they meant to each other. It is definitely the kind of relationship that most can only dream of. They went on crazy adventures together, then got married and had two children. The story then follows them as they and their family grow. Unfortunately, at the age of 38, Kate passes away from breast cancer. Whilst she was ill she created a list of things for Singe and the boys to do when she was gone. This is what became known as 'Mum's list'.

This blog is supposed to be a happy place and I know this book might not sound too happy but the message in the book is inspiring and that is why it has been such a great hit worldwide. It gives you an odd mix of emotions when reading it but I can't recommend this book enough. It is a true love story.

Mum's List has also been adapted into a film. This film also may have turned me in to an emotional wreck when I watched it. I'm pretty sure I cried from start until finish but the inspiring story and the pure love within it was so worth it.

This heart-breaking love story will have you crying at the end of most chapters yet will somehow uplift you at the same time. It helps you realise just how short life is and how extraordinary the little things in life can be. The love that these two have for each other is a once-in-a-lifetime kind of thing and that comes across in the book so well.

Kate and Singe are both incredible people and the list Kate left behind helps her live on in spirit. It truly is a wonderful read.
