DRIVING

I haven't been driving for long but I will say one thing... it is a lot harder than you think! Parents makes it looks so easy when they take you on long drives to the beach, and when they stop off at a service station with a quick "let me stretch my legs, I'm so tired from driving" it always made me wonder why. After all, they have been sitting down all the time so how was that hard?
There are 3 main hurdles to driving: the lessons, the theory test and the practical test. So far (and as of last week) I have overcome 2 out of these 3. Not too bad if I do say so myself!
1. Lessons- My top tip for getting lessons would be to start out by asking around. Ask as many people which driving instructor they use or have used in the past, especially if they have passed recently. I found that a lot of them didn't have any vacancies so asking a few different people would be best too.
2. Theory- Last week I took my theory test. I am so happy to say that I did in fact pass it, however it was my second attempt. My tips for passing first time would be to practice as many questions as possible. I did this by downloading an app on my phone that uses the same questions as the DVLA on the actual test. The best one I found is called "Theory test genius". It has 3 different difficulty levels so you don't redo the same questions and get to attempt lots of different ones.
3. Practical- I am yet to take my practical test but I do know that it is changing in December. They are taking out some of the maneuvers, one of which is reversing around a corner. This upsets me as that is the one thing I can do well when driving... so far. They are also doubling the time of independent driving from 10 minutes to 20 minutes and you will now have to follow directions off of a satnav rather that the instructor.
This post was to document and celebrate me passing my theory test and also because I feel like I am getting on quite well with my driving. Also... sorry its kinda super short :-)
Have a good day...
And dont forget to smile! x
