HAPPY NEW YEAR

So 2016 is nearly over (cue confetti cannons) and 2017 is nearly upon us... AND THAT SCARES ME A LOT!

So much is happening in 2017 for me. I am going to be 18 and an actual ADULT, I am finishing my A-levels, hopefully not failing them, and I will then be leaving to go to university.

The reason I wanted to do this blog post was to reflect on all the good things about 2016 and all the things to look forward to in 2017. I am also gonna talk a bit about resolutions that I hope I can keep to in the new year that I think will just make me happier.

The main thing I enjoyed about 2016 was the people I spent most of my time with, which just so happens to be these guys below!

My chums!

These guys have made my year so fun and enjoyable and helped to make college bearable. I have known two of them since school and met the other two at college just over a year ago. In that time, I can't believe how close we have become. It's like I have known them all for years and years.

This photo was actually taken during the summer holidays just before me and Lee went on NCS together for 4 weeks. We went the fun fair and had such a great day. That was definitely on of my favorite days of 2016!

In 2017, I want to spend more time with these fab people because we are all going to be going away to uni and won't get the chance to see each other every day like we do now. One of my resolutions is to do more things that make me happy and spend more time with the right people. I do often put others before myself and do things to make them happy, even though it doesn't always make me that happy. In 2017 I want to do more for me as well as other people. I want to travel and go to new places and try new things with good people.

You may have guessed from the whole point of this blog but I want to be as happy as possible so in 2017 I will be trying simple things to be help me be happier and healthier.

3 simple ways to make life better!

  1. Try new things- I have always been intrigued in flavoured tea but have only just tried one other than boring old breakfast tea. Don't get me wrong, normal tea tastes great but there are so many flavours now. After making tea at work and smelling the peppermint, I have been wanting to try it for so long. I can tell you it tastes very good... but don't forget the sugar like I did.

  2. Just say yes- Try and take every opportunity you can to do exciting things like travelling or spending time with the people you love. Why put something off if you want to do it and know you will get something good out of it? After all, we only regret the chances we didn't take.

  3. Eat and drink well- That doesn't mean a bottle of wine a day though. I struggle to eat breakfast most days as I am either at college early or at work. I would rather stay in bed than get up early to eat food so end up sleeping instead. Next year I am going to try and eat 3 meals a day and also try to drink more water.

Please remember that YOU are the most important person in your life so take care of yourself. Don't rush things, even if you want something to happen. Whatever it is, it will come in its own time when you least expect it. I hope you all have a great New Year and take the opportunity to adopt some of these into your life to make you happier.

And don't forget to smile! x
